Avra k'davra is a book about Hypnosis in Faith, Religion and Life. It explores the various forms of hypnosis and trance commonly used in Christianity, but not limited to just one faith. It also includes some hypnosis history.
While many religions criticize the use of hypnosis, they still use its techniques by other names. A few faiths are beginning to openly accept and acknowledge hypnosis as a valuable healing tool and giving the okay for their members to access all the tools available for healing.
Book Review: Avra k’davra by Jessica Hanson is a well-researched book about hypnosis in faith and religion. She explores the use of hypnosis and various forms of trance in a number of different common religions, including (but not limited to) Christianity; and also includes some history of hypnosis.
While a number of religious organizations criticize the use of hypnosis and hypnotherapy, the members of said religions may or may not know that they have experienced various forms of hypnosis many times. If you are curious about the combination of hypnosis and spirituality, then read this book. In my opinion it is an outstanding presentation demonstrating that hypnosis has retained a place in most (if not all) religions throughout time.
