“Our bodies are made up of 16 chemical elements,” according to Dr. Victor G. Rocine. “A well chemically balanced body is a healthy body. There are also traces of other elements in the body, but there are primarily 16 which the body relies on for all of its processes and health.” (Rocine, 1920)
Magnesium is one of these 16 elements; Magnesium is a calmer. Magnesium is natures laxative, a nerve mineral found and needed in the digestive system. It prevents and relieves autointoxication, refreshes the system and is a new cell promotor in the body. Magnesium deficiency symptoms are: tenderness, excitement problems and excessive emotion. Principal sources for magnesium are: grapefruit, oranges, figs, whole barley, corn, yellow corn meal, wheat bran, coconut, goat milk, and egg yolk. (The Chemistry of Man, Jensen, 2007, p.110)
Magnesium deficiency mimics the pineal gland experience. (Near Death or Out of Body experience that people seek through the use of mushrooms, LSD, and Ayahuasca) It is possible that magnesium deficiency in the body could cause a mini death or altered brain states. Many pineal gland experiences are similar to those who are near death. Several marathon runners have experienced this due to dehydration and the bodies use of magnesium as they are over exerting their bodies.
“Magnesium is responsible for over 600 cellular processes. Having a deficiency can have effects on the WHOLE body. Your mitochondria need magnesium, and your body needs it to make CO Q10. It is also needed for: protein synthesis, carbohydrate metabolism, synthesis of nucleic acid, and DNA production…enhances and activates vitamin D….reduces excitotoxicity.” (The Tuesday Minute, Magnesium. www.TuesdayMinute.net)
Many backaches that patients complain of disappear when magnesium is added to the diet. The colloids of magnesium silicate, magnesium carbonate and magnesium phosphate are effective in overcoming joint disturbance, especially in the back and spinal regions. Many patients complain the chiropractic adjustments of the spine do not hold because the vertebrae slip out of place right away. Keep in mind that magnesium is found in the tendons and ligaments, and it is necessary to have a good reserve of it to make the vertebrae stay in their proper position. Moreover, when a person is relaxed mentally, we have fewer spinal problems and, of course much less tension. Along with magnesium in our diets, we need to work on proper attitudes so an to reduce tension. We should keep in mind that troubles actually develop us and bring out the best in us. We need to be aware of the deeper spiritual dimensions of troubles…Magnesium, “the relaxer”, will assist us in soothing the nerves for calm, but we can support it to this end with our minds. (The Chemistry of Man, Jensen, 2007, p.221)
I cannot begin to tell you what adding Magnesium to my diet has done for me! For starters, it does help my body hold chiropractic adjustments longer, and it has helped ease the arthritis pain in my body as well – as long as I stay away from sugar and wheat.
Along with this, I take probiotics and enzymes, which seem to keep my bowels regular, where Magnesium alone was not enough.
One side effect of taking too much Magnesium (over 1,000 mgs per day) is a loose bowel – your stool can become very soft. By adding probiotics and enzymes with the Magnesium, and a healthy diet, the bowel has plenty of good bacteria, building blocks, and nutrition to create a healthy bowel movement, one or two times per day, with ease.
Remember that mental health also plays a role – a calm mind will help the body better assimilate the Magnesium, since its job is to help relax the body – creating ease of flow throughout the organs and tissues. Allowing for ease of elimination and assimilation.
There is nothing wrong with the use of the healing arts, but if one needs them to survive or cannot live without constant use, then there is an underlying cause which needs to be addressed. The continued use of alternative methods can then be considered abuse of their purpose and allow a person to become very ill if intervention is not done.
Alternative methods of treatment are not meant to be lifelong. They are used to restore balance to the body systems and then only used to support the body and maintain good health after the healing has occurred. Magnesium could be taken daily in high stress times or 3 times per week in lower stress times to maintain healthy levels. Remember, Magnesium deficiency mimics the pineal gland experience. It is possible that Magnesium deficiency in the body could cause a mini death or altered brain states, even fitful sleep or nightmares.
Many people today are taking tranquilizers, laxatives and sleeping pills, mostly because they cannot handle all the stress of life. They have no time to meditate, daydream, practice self-hypnosis, or nap during the day, and when they get off work, they continue the bombardment with all their electronic devices. Then at bed time they are too wired to sleep. All they need is a little Magnesium in their diets and some mental discipline as well.
Sadly, in today’s world, there is less and less time to devote to self-care, especially mental health. A simple 5 minutes of meditation, daydreaming, or self-hypnosis once or twice per day can give the mind and body enough time to clear out old thoughts and digest food, thus feeding the body with proper nutrition and oxygen. An on top of that, it slows us down so we can really “be present with our self” be aware that we are someone who matters in the world.
You are a human being, not a human doing!
In the world today, many people lose their sense of identity, and just become a number. How about allowing 5 minutes of your day to experience YOU as a human being!
Before continuing to the Magnesium exercise, I must address again the importance of our emotions and the reserves of vital nutrition in the body. Negative emotions destroy the reserves of Magnesium in the body!
Someone who is: short tempered, bitter, greedy, fearful, over worked, or grieving, will use up magnesium very fast. Our intense emotions break down Iodine, Phosphorus and Magnesium, which are like oil to an engine, which keeps it from overheating. As the liver breaks down the chemicals our negative thoughts and emotions are creating, it has problems eliminating the toxins through the bowel because the bowel is closed off due to emotion.
When we get upset, our digestion and elimination shut down. We literally become full of shit when we get angry and cannot forgive. Just like how we stew in our emotions, the fecal matter becomes stagnant and rots inside of us; we become gassy and bloated, creating a toxic atmosphere mentally and physically. These toxins can back up into the blood stream and toxify the blood, giving us a headache or making us feel pains in the body – the pain in the neck boss, the killer headache of a person we work with, the shitty job we have….
If you want to unwind at the end of your day, draw some warm water into a soaking pan and add Epsom salt or Magnesium flakes to the water. You can also add a couple drops of your favorite essential oils if desired. Or use a foot soak tub and let your feet soak until the water is cold. Your body will absorb as much Magnesium as it needs and your feet will feel wonderful!
Magnesium helps to lower fever, so a warm or tepid bath may feel good if you are running a fever. Your skin will absorb as much Magnesium as your body needs. You can also use a Magnesium supplement or Magnesium drink.
There are many wonderful tasting Magnesium powers on the market, which work very well and taste wonderful hot or cold.
Hopefully I have made my point and you can relate. Now let’s do something about it!
Letting Go (image from aspirerace.com) Read through exercise on the next page and use open eye trance, or close your eyes. Repeat as often as needed, and eat a healthy diet.
Allowing your eyes to focus on the words as you sit comfortably and quietly. Form and clear image in your mind of what you are holding onto – give the thing a size and shape – give it a color. Notice if it has sound of movement. Now that you know what it looks like…decide how you would like to release and let go of it….toss it in the garbage…bury it in the earth…launch it off in a rocket to the sun…. Let go in whatever way is right for you…..repeat letting it go until it feels complete. Now feel the lightness and freedom in this area of your life and body of letting go…it may feel empty or still… You may fill this space with any color, sound or feeling you wish to….imagine the healing and restoring taking place in your body…as muscles begin to unwind and release tension….increasing blood flow and oxygen to your tissues. When this feels complete for now, repeat with the next issue or bring yourself back to full conscious waking awareness.
