As I study and write my next book I found this interesting tidbit:
Before the 20th century, missionaries and other people going to the south sea islands were often killed and eaten by cannibals. These cannibals, however, would never eat the flesh of a man who smoked because they would become violently ill; much like how a young boy becomes ill after smoking his dads cigar or cigarette. (Infinite Contact, by Ernest L Norman, page 121) This is the only instance I can think of where smoking might help you. You still would get killed but not eaten!

Excerpt from The Chemistry Of Man by Dr. Bernard Jensen, Ph.D. page 23.
“Research has shown that 80 percent of what we learn comes through vision, but what we do t see is as important, in many cases, as what we do. Two men, George Starr, MD and Dr. Arrums, a San Francisco radionic technician. These men told me each disease had a specific electromagnetic expression, a vibrational frequency. A physics professor wince told me that every object on earth has a certain vibrational frequency that can destroy it completely, cause it to fly apart. Opera singers can break glass by hitting high notes. Matching soldiers break step when crossing a bridge to avoid damaging it structurally. A plucked string on one guitar can cause the string on another guitar a few feet away to start vibrating. Is it so strange to think that a disease would have a certain vibration?“ I spoke with a nurse recently who said, “Half of the people in the hospital do not need to be there right now. They are psychosomatic.” If you don’t know what this means, look it up. But in a nut shell it means, these people have watched TOO MUCH tv and are hyped up on the fear of the COVID 19 virus. They have lost the ability to think on their own and will run to the doctor because they sneezed. I am not trying to down play the severity of the virus- for certain people it can cause severe life threatening complications! Most people will test positive and have symptoms ranging from nothing to the flu. Bottom line- TAKE CARE OF YOU HEALTH. Thoughts become things. Consider this as you choose what: tv shows, music, food, thoughts and images, you let into you mind and body. Garbage in, garbage out. ”It is more important what kind of person has the illness than what kind of illness the person has” -Anon Excerpts from The Chemistry of Man by Bernard Jensen Ph.D.
Pages 226-227 chapter on Magnesium Disorders caused by short-circuit in brain: schizophrenic tendencies, borderline insanity, behavioral inconsistency, neuroses, cataleptic afflictions, manic-depressive disturbances, claimed clairvoyant visions, hypnotic trance, abnormal moods, fantasies- all are caused by breakdown or short circuit in communication in the brain’s white fibers, as are choreic neurosis and many other mangalore symptoms and idiosyncrasies. All mark magnesium impoverishment. Magnesium lack and hypnosis may be related: There are many other disorders which call for a diet rich in magnesium, the “relaxer”. These include spams due to presence of toxins or harmful germ life; peri-cardinal complains, ailments of the nervous system, some of which are caused by acids and toxins in the nerves. Excessive participation in seances, overuse of hypnosis, overwork in healing practices and mesmerism brought on by strong individual’s call for magnesium because nerve and brain matter are dried out, “burned out”, heated and inflamed. Page 228 Negative emotions destroy magnesium reserves Negative passions such as hatred, temper, outbursts, jealousy, quarrels, resentment, bitterness, hostility, selfishness, greed, need magnesium; so do feats, dreads, worry, panic, paranoia, nerve shocks, overwork or over study, loss of loved one. Such emotions break down phosphorus extensively and the nerves and brain become overheated; then magnesium is essential. The more phosphorus used by the brain, the more phosphates must be eliminated by the body, and the process calls for magnesium. Negative emotions are disastrous to health even under the best of care. Page 221-222 I believe that the natural foods work similar to homeopathic principles. The better mineral balance we have, the easier it is to attract more of the same into us. Like attracts like. We can attract certain kinds of chemical elements through living a life in accord with the laws of life. When we begin to relax in living, we will attract more magnesium to us. Yogananda said that he could attract iron to his body through his mental concept about iron. Here is a very advanced idea. The nearer we are to the higher life of the soul, in other words, the more we have a balance in harmony with the finer forces of nature. We can put ourselves in a state of vibration that attracts to us what we need, or what we are short of. Every note in the scale vibrates to the seventh note below or the seventh note above. Wherever you are in the scale of life, it is possible to pick up what is higher or lower, according to your needs. We are speaking of a derp study which beats ion our potentials and our futures. Once again, we need to concentrate on how man is a unity of body, mind and spirit. As I put my feet up after a long day of canning, out of nowhere came a memory from 7 years ago.
On the 18th of October, 7 years ago, my husband collapsed from a massive stroke and passed away 2 1/2 weeks later. This year, as the time approaches, the memories are easier, softer to remember. I think it was the canning which triggered the memory. One never knows what will trigger a memory: a smell, a sound, a voice, a texture, etc. You see, I was making apple sauce and the last time I made apple sauce was 7 years ago. I have 2 jars left from that time. As time has passed I have been able to see how his death stopped me from living in many ways.
This time of year can be difficult for many who have lost loved ones. The best advice I can give, is to keep moving forward one moment at a time. Memories will still come in their own time, but will soften. Use those canned goods and enjoy making new stuff! Use those special dishes or cups. Look up once in a while and say, Thank You. Remember that you still have a life to live- and how you live it is up to you. Those uncanny memories will get used up in time and then you’ll have plenty of space for better ones! Memories of the little things, laughter, hugs and tickles. In fact, take one of those empty jars and write: Good Memories of _________. On the lid. Then when something comes to mind, write it down on paper and place it in the jar. Happy uncanny canning and Happy trace-forming Jessica Happy sunday😊
I was reading an article on smudging and wondered; can you smudge with coffee?☕️ Well, yes you can!👍 Coffee is a stimulant, so grab that warm cup of coffee or tea and walk around inside your home, spreading the aroma is supposed to to get things moving. The same way coffee can help keep you regular. Ha- just got you to walk around your house carrying coffee:) On a more serious note: DO open your windows and let some fresh air in. Smudging with a sage bundle or essential oils can also help purify the stagnant indoor air. Remember to change your furnace filter too! Back to coffee for a moment: I read a study about how just holding a warm beverage makes you more open and spiritual. It seems warmth reminds us of the womb and being cared for. When you hold a warm beverage in church, bam! Instant induction and regression to a happier time of being cared for. This is not the whole reason churches now have coffee shops in them, but it’s part of it. Besides, coffee is social. The ancient tea ceremony was a social prayer time in which alliance were formed. Back to smudging. If you haven’t tried smudging, it is worth it! At its core, it uses hypnosis principles such as focused attention; which is prayer or meditation. If you don’t have a sage bundle, grab some essential oils and a dish of water. ***That dish you received as a wedding gift and never use is perfect! Ready? Great! Now put yourself in a prayer mode- quiet your mind, in whichever way is best for you. Walk from room to room praying over each space and sprinkling the water or letting the smoke go to all the corners- closets too! After you’ve been in all the rooms, attic and basement included, open a door and visualize all the stagnant air and energy leaving your home. Use a broom if you really want to sweep it out!🧹 It won’t turn you into a witch, but it will put you in touch with what women have always known- shake the rugs outside after an undesirable guest has left, to send their negativity with them. Or remove the welcome mat before they arrive next time! What just happened? To the observer, nothing, accept you just walked around your house looking half awake sprinkling water on things like a priest.😂 On a deeper level beyond physical sight, you may have killed a few germs or evicted a ghost or two! Mainly, you cleaned the air a bit in each room and opened the door for some healthy air exchange. Oh, and you also got a bit of exercise while praying. Yes, pagans pray too! They probably pray more than the average church goer does. Some of the best prayers I have ever heard came from the non churched. They were genuine and straight to the point, most often followed by results. Why? Because they understand the power of words with intentions and actions. Thousands of “pagans” were burned at the steak or tortured because they knew how to do things right and it infuriated the religious systems. Pagans were the original healers, medicine men/women and doctors. And it was affordable care! It’s fall, a good reason to learn something new! Prayer is the original hypnosis. So grab that cup of java and focus your thoughts on something pleasant, or pray for each person you know. You will not turn into a frog I promise! Happy trance-forming:) Jessica L Hanson CHt In the October 2020 issue of ACRES USA magazine, pgs 20-22 is a good article by Ben Falk. His article can be applied to farming as well as everyday life. “Empower yourself: master something people need, not simply what they want. Remember, skills are one of the only things no one can ever take away from you. If you don’t believe in you can do something, you certainly won’t. Our attitude manifests everything. Believe in yourself and act from a place of confidence, not fear. Treat change as opportunity, and do not bemoan challenges or loss, look ahead. Establish a good base put down roots: after skills, and adaptable attitude, you need to put down roots. Connect with those around you and have a presence. Many nomads come and go, be the one who stays and is dependable.” There’s so many more great metaphors in his article. Above all, master yourself. Know your strengths and weaknesses. Use them wisely and change the world! Be the best YOU because everyone else is already taken. Be trustworthy and reliable, that’s what people need. Master what you are good at and do that! You do not need to be an expert in everything- too many people are experts in everything and good at nothing! Leaders start at the bottom and work their way up. Enjoy the journey because it is lonely at the top. The happiest people I have met are those who enjoy the moment and position they are in now. Hope this helps someone, I know I need to be reminded of this every now and then:) Battle of the Salsa, 2020
By Jessica L Hanson The morning had come. As I wandered into the kitchen, with sleep in my eyes, I saw them there. They covered my counters as far as I could see. I tiptoed over to the teapot and flipped the switch. This day needed reinforcements of coffee and tea! After a sip or two of tea I assessed the situation. Garlic and jalapeños flanked the right. Onions and vinegar flanked the left side, with salt and various spices in reserves. And the tomatoes, oh the tomatoes- red ones, yellow ones as far as the eye could see. Large and small. All with their little green berets waiting to advance! It was a glorious sight in the dim morning light! I donned my apron and wielded my knife. The fight was on! The tomatoes advanced row upon row. I plucked and pulled at their little green berets, then set them aside. The jalapeños advanced and sought victory with their mighty heat, but I prevailed, gasping for air as their deadly fumes rose into the air. I opened a window and took a deep breath. I don’t be defeated! Bring on the rest! Pulling back in false retreat, I brought out the stockpot and turned on the heat. Next came my secret weapon, you should have seen their eyes! The food processor emerged from across the way, it was going to be a battle, oh what a day! Tomato after tomato met their demise as I chopped and plopped them into the machine. Red and yellow innards everywhere, oh what a scene! Then came the attack, what a horrific surprise, the onions! Their vapors, oh how they stung my eyes! I ran in retreat to seek relief. The kitchen fell silent and boy did it stink! The jalapeños, the garlic and onion smell rose, with hints of vinegar to sting the nose. Back with vengeance I came, chopping and dicing, oh what a scene! After advancing past the onions, the battle was mine. The spices surrendered and stood in a line. Soon all was quite with a sweet smell in the air, with just a faint summer coming from the stove, every last veggie was in the pot, ever last garlic clove! From summer to boil, it bubbles and cooked. When it was ready, out came the jars. Ladle by by ladle I laid the veggies to rest. Sealing the tops with lids and rings, a baptism in hot water would seal their fate. All would be forgiven as I heard the canning lids pop. What a battle it was, Salsa 2020. My eyes are still red and my sinus are clear, the kitchen counters are all mine! It was all worth it. Perhaps I’ll fight again next year:) Click the link to read my article in The EDGE magazine.
It’s on page 19. happy trans-forming:) https://issuu.com/edgemagazine.net/docs/edge-0920?fr=sMDA1NTE4NDcyMjg Recently a road trip brought me back to where I resided for 12+ years and had many life experiences.
This was the place I really became me: rented my first house, worked, made a name for myself, got married, and became a widow. Driving through the area brought back memories which I processed in open eye trance. Just seeing the town sign and being near the area brought back memories and made me uneasy. But a speaker I listened to recently said, “Are you doing your own work? If not, get out of the business!” Well, what an opportunity! So I decided then and there to do my own work; to change the memories and how being there made me feel, it was going to be a wonderful day! My husband and I did the business which had made the trip necessary and then headed to a nearby disk golf course in Montevideo, MN. This disk golf course brought back good memories of my current husband and I. We had a great time and even found a disk, making up for the one we lost last year! Our next stop brought us to Dawson, MN, the town where I attended grief counseling and met a very kind therapist, who helped me through a lot! My good friend, Carleen, worked in Dawson at the funeral home; she’s passed on as well. But there’s a great little thrift store on Main Street. It’s a neat little town and slice of Midwest Minnesota Americana. Stop by the town if your passing through the area. More good memories! After getting one disk stuck in a tree, my husband and I made good memories getting it down. I climbed the tree and it brought back memories of climbing the basswood tree at grandmas house. This memory helped me climb high enough to get the disk unstuck. I got scraped up a bit, but we really had fun! Our next stop was Clarkfield, MN. This is the place I became me and also fell apart. If you ever pass through, stop by the grocery store and the cafe. Tell them Jessica sent you. Someone will know who your talking about! It’s a great place to live by the way. The kind of place that grows on you. One of the few last small towns out there. More great Midwest Minnesota Americana! Of course we stopped by the grocery store! Nothing had changed, it was just how I left it the day grief hit and I left. Open eye trance again! A lot of good memories in that small grocery store! I loved working there and loved getting to know the customers! It felt good to walk in and say hi to my old boss. “The place looks the same but isn’t the same without you”, my boss said, “Lots of people still talk about you and tell me they see you from time to time in Willmar.” It was good to hear those words! I was not okay when I left Clarkfield after my husband’s death. A lot of stuff happened and I wasn’t sure of much at the time. It was great to stop by and hear those words! Stopping by the cemetery, open eyed trance, still seemed like he died yesterday but a long time ago. It was very surreal. I could see this strange mix of then and now, like over exposed photos overlapping. My husband gave me a moment and I stood at the headstone in open eye trance letting the memories loop in my mind. When I had processed it, I saw a peaceful cemetery and a stone with my late husband’s name on it. Tears filled my eyes, there was so much I wanted to tell him, but he’s not there, so I said, “thank you”. Then turning to my husband, he stood by my side and I felt grateful, both men had changed my life for the better and I theirs. I said, “It still seems surreal, we were still newlyweds and we just didn’t have enough time together.” With grateful tears in my eyes, I took my husbands hand, took a breath, said, “ready”, and we walked to the car. One last stop on our drive was the Granite Falls disk golf course. And yes, more open eyed trance! This was the town with the hospital where the ambulance took my husband the day of the stroke. It’s the town I became a different person in that day! But somehow it felt good to be back there now. That place changed me for the best! We ate supper on the banks of the river in the grass, then played disk golf. New memories were made and old ones became more healed. I am a work in progress, passionate about hypnosis. Open eye trance happens to all of us. Ever see a car like the one you had your first kiss in? Or drive by the place you had that great time at? Or hear a song that made you remember? That’s open eye trace in a nutshell. When those painful memories from the past come up, you are in open eye trance. Allow yourself space to begin to process, change, and put the memories in the past, so you can live open eye trance now, as you create new memories and have new experiences. Take that road trip and heal from your past! Happy trance-forming:) This world and times we live in!
There are lots of things, which would get me banned from the internet, which I will not say. I will instead, put on my therapist hat and share some mask coping skills for children and adults. We are all children at heart! In hypnosis we find a more positive way to associate to something, which makes it easier to cope with. Like daydreaming to escape boredom on steroids. With these methods, you get to pretend and daydream all day! First think of someone who has a job which requires the wearing of a mask or helmet. Research this job and learn why they need the protection. Could they do their job or survive without a mask? Now let the fun begin! For children and adults: do you have a favorite super hero who wears a mask? Remember, the mask is part of this super heroes outfit. Without his/her mask, they may not have their special powers. Think of your mask as your super-power mask! Wear it proudly:) This mask gives you the super powers to do your job! For children and adults: do you like underwater exploration? A mask is essential to underwater exploration! Without a mask, you would suffocate and drown from the water. When you wear your mask: imagine you are swimming underwater looking for treasure while shopping, a Navy Seal in training, an underwater welder, a biologist studying underwater life as you stock the shelves and work with customers. Be as creative as you wish, there’s lots to explore under the water! For children and adults: do you like outer space? All astronauts must wear masks and helmets to do their jobs! In space there is NO oxygen and they would die without their mask! As you wear your mask, imagine you are part of the first group of astronauts to live on the moon or Mars. Everyday you must wear a mask to survive, but you are exploring and living in new places. You are a space pioneer! What will you discover today? At work in your cubicle, this is your spaceship or space home. A cubical is about the size of parts of the space station. Stocking shelves, you are exploring the lunar surface, meeting other astronauts, helping them find materials for their missions. For children and adults: do you like the old west? How about cowboys? The cowboy wears a bandanna to protect his face from the wind, sun and dust of the rough rider life! It also helps him hide his identity from the bad guys, keep wandering women’s lips away and can double as a napkin after a hearty meal over the fire. At work, think of your bandanna or mask as keeping the dust from all those cattle out of your face, as the wind blows across the prairie. You want to have moist lips and a clean face to kiss your cowgirl sweetheart with at the end of a hard day on the trail! For children and adults: it’s Halloween all the time! For the Halloween lovers, the mask is like wearing a costume every day! For children and adults: ever wanted to be a doctor, dentist? These professions require the wearing of masks to keep them healthy and to stop the spread of germs from one patient to the next. If you want to be a doctor or dentist, this is good practice on getting used to wearing a mask every day all day! For children and adults: Ever wanted to be an actor or actress? Here’s your big chance! Actors and actresses spend lots of time on set, being in character. This requires props at times. They spend time learning how their character lived. This also means learning new and uncomfortable things, like breathing with a mask while playing the role; on set or on screen. How are your acting skills with your mask on? Did you get the part? For children and adults: want to be a firefighter? The mask they wear is nothing compared to the small one you need to wear now. The firefighter mask and helmet are heavy and warm. But without their mask, they couldn’t breathe and would suffocate from the fumes, ash, soot and chemicals. Wearing a mask saves their life, so they can save yours. These are just a few to get you started, I know you will find many more. Breathe easy and happy masking😷 |
